2026 elections: atlas now shows the final official result
Final result instead of election-night figures
Berlin elected its Abgeordnetenhaus and the Bezirk assemblies (BVV) on 20 September 2026. Since then, navigator.berlin showed the provisional official result, with data as of 21 September 2026. These figures carried a “provisional” label everywhere.
The State Electoral Committee confirmed the final result on 12 October 2026. The Berlin State Election Commissioner (Landeswahlleiterin Berlin) updated the polling district data on the same day. The atlas now shows these official figures. The provisional label no longer appears.
The change covers:
- the 2026 Abgeordnetenhaus election, first and second vote
- the 2026 BVV elections in all 12 Bezirke
The final result can differ from the provisional result in individual polling districts. Such differences arise when election boards and committees check and correct counts. All earlier elections stay unchanged.
Effect in the atlas
- The two 2026 cards on the home page no longer show a “Provisional” badge.
- Election detail pages and polling district maps show the vote shares of the final result.
- The election trend on Kiez pages uses the final figures. This applies to the Kiez aggregate and to the Berlin values.
- The open API and the tools for AI assistants no longer mark 2026 as provisional.
Methodology page
The election data methodology page states the new status:
- The “Data cut-off” section lists 2026 without the “(provisional)” note.
- The “Update cadence” section names the election day, the confirmation date and the source of the final result.
- The data sources entry refers to the final official result.
The German version of the page shows the same information.
